The Supply Planner is initially responsible for supporting the BU/Divisional Supply Planning Teams in planning the manufacturing and coordinating the distribution of finished goods across the network to enable successful execution of the Inventory Policy. This includes incorporating the best available inputs to support production, capacity, and inventory targets by SKU/location in the planning system, applying sound business knowledge and judgment, and maintaining robust cross-functional discussions to support plans used by manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, and transportation functions and business units for planning, execution, and financial management.

This role allows the incumbent to learn sound Supply Planning processes, master the use of the SAP APO SNP tool and any other tools used by the Supply Planning teams.

As the Supply Planner develops in the role and becomes proficient with Supply Planning processes, he/she is responsible for planning the production and distribution of finished goods across the network for a small product portfolio (relative to Sr. Supply Planners) while achieving desired service, inventory, capacity, and total delivered cost targets. This includes incorporating the best available inputs to maintain production, capacity, and inventory settings and policies by SKU/location in the planning system, applying sound business knowledge and judgment, and facilitating robust cross-functional discussions to develop high-quality plans to be used by manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, and transportation functions and business units for planning, execution, and financial management

Key Responsibilities

Service Fulfillment

The Supply Planner will

  • Run daily Alerts to identify risks to Service Fulfillment

  • Work with Sr Supply Planner to identify actions to be taken to mitigate risks

  • Continuously monitor inventory levels to identify areas for adjustment -- can be master data, inventory targets, plant schedule adherence or other

  • Proactively communicate potential service issues; Investigate root cause as directed by Team Lead and work cross functionally to implement corrective action

  • Develop high-quality supply plans (inventory, production, capacity, and distribution) by utilizing best-practice processes and sound business judgment.

  • Monitor plan attainment and cut reports

  • Communicate service issues and coordinate resolution

  • Develop, monitor and report key performance metrics

  • Deliver against annual Total Delivered Cost, inventory plans, capacity plans, and service level targets

  • Improve plan performance by effectively analyzing sources of error and recommending appropriate corrective action plans.

  • Foster cross-functional discussion to improve the quality and interpretation of supply plans

  • Conduct regular continuous improvement and process effectiveness/efficiency reviews.

  • Manage phase in/out strategies for promotional activities and product discontinuations.

  • Lead the supply portion of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, focusing on delivering a concise business message, highlighting exceptions and presenting qualified alternatives.

  • Evaluate Sales and Marketing activity proposals for capacity requirements and production feasibility; resolve supply issues related to the requests.

  • Provide Product Supply (PS) Support for the Strategic Product Plan, including designing the supply chain and launch plans for major initiatives and new products.

  • Support Plant kick-off and information gathering, supervise initial round of inventory target setting, ensure weekly production planning meetings are established, provide leadership for development of initial capacity model, and manage supply during critical operating periods.

  • Manage relationships with plants to eliminate of obstacles to more efficient production cycles.

  • Coordinate the business budget process by developing sourcing plans, inventory targets, and plant production budgets for each fiscal year, with updates as required by the business. Coordinate with other functions (such as Logistics) to build consistent assumptions for their budget development.

  • Leverage the Supply Planning processes to develop Fiscal Year forecasts during the business planning cycles

Systems Maintenance

  • Complete periodic reviews of all system data; identify areas for improvement and work with Sr Supply Planner on appropriate changes

  • Escalate system issues to appropriate parties; create IT Tickets as needed

Analytics and Communication

  • Monitor daily, weekly, monthly metrics

  • Become an expert on Planning data, how to find, analysis techniques, presentation techniques, choices and consequences

  • Complete root cause analysis and create suggestions on how to minimize future issues

  • Look for trends, results, opportunities to provide better service (case fill), Inventory velocity (FDOS) or Inventory levels (EOMI)

  • Actively use all available tools to analyze Planning data

Personnel Development

  • Become an experienced user of APO SNP

  • Learn industry standard Supply Planning verbiage and processes

  • Become familiar with Clorox specific Supply Chain Networks and how to model for optimum Inventory Flow

  • Learn data analytics and presentation skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • 2 years of work experience in supply planning, demand planning or other Supply Chain role

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • 3 years of work experience within Demand Planning, Supply Planning, other Supply Chain role

  • Experience using Advanced Planning software tools

  • Consumer Packaged Goods experience

  • Experienced in setting priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to build strong relationships across the functions and levels

  • Demonstrated strong aptitude in analysis, root causes identification, and problem solving

  • Able to analyze data, draw reasonable conclusions, and formulate next steps

  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
