GLAD Manufacturing Company is seeking applicants for the position of Senior Packaging Engineer at the Amherst, Virginia plant. The qualified individual will be a hands-on plant engineer focusing on the technical support to operations as well as leading multiple projects, including capital upgrades and commercialization projects. They will plan and execute projects as well as participate on teams as a technical resource.
Lead and execute capital projects from concept through feasibility, business justification, detailed engineering, equipment selection, installation and commissioning to achieve a vertical start-up.
Focus on equipment and systems redesign, efficiency improvements, costs savings and line upgrades.
Provide day-to-day and long-term technical input to Engineering and Operations leaders on process maintenance and continuous improvement.
Serve as a key technical resource for maintenance and production employees for problem solving and implementation of solutions.
Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required
BS in engineering (Mechanical Engineering degree preferred) is HIGHLY preferred.
Minimum of 7 years related experience, with at least 4 years in manufacturing or plant engineering.
Proven experience in managing the planning, analysis, submission, approval and execution of capital projects including: cost, schedule, quality, start-up/commissioning and training elements of engineering projects.
Must have good people skills and be team oriented (member/leader), strong technical expertise with strong conceptual and systematic thinking skills.
Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma, or Equivalent
