Position summary

The Quality Assurance Manager, with one direct report, is responsible for establishing a culture of quality and be the Quality single point of contact for the Clorox of Canada business.

The Quality Assurance Manager will provide Quality Management System oversight and ensures all products (Cleaning, Professional Products, Burt's Bees, Renew Life and Specialty) meet quality and work with Global Stewardship (GS) to ensure that ongoing regulatory compliance is maintained.

This role will be responsible for corporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Major responsibilities include releasing product, monitoring the contract manufacture's and suppliers performance, providing change management support, managing product issue resolution, managing quality documents/records, and working with GS on ensuring compliance to required government regulations. Support requests may involve new product startups, brand maintenance efforts, oversight of product out-of-spec (OOS) investigations, CAPA reviews, training, system development, and provide support as needed to GS for product & site licensing activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Operations Support -- Ensures that all products meet quality and regulatory requirements and are released on a timely basis to meet business needs. Quickly resolves product issues and implements corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Monitors Copacker and Supplier performance and implement appropriate corrective actions.

  • Provides Quality Leadership -- Acts as the single point of contact for all Clorox of Canada issues and concerns. Works directly with Product Supply, R&D, Marketing and Sales to improve quality processes, systems and tools. Participates / represents Canada on all PIT's involving products sourced from Canada.

  • Quality Management System Support -- Develops and maintains a QMS to effectively and efficiently meet corporate, business, and regulatory requirements while driving a culture of quality across the entire organization. Ensures all documents/records are effectively managed and controlled and audit ready at all times.

Position requirements

6+ years' Quality experience with Health Canada compliance requirements, quality systems/tools, finished product release, product and site licensing support, and document control in OTC's (Nonprescription drugs), Natural Health Products / Supplements (highly desired), cosmetics, cleaning, pesticide and disinfectant industries.

Bachelors or Master's degree in a technical field.

  • Knowledge of Health Canada requirements associated with Natural Health Products, disinfectants, pesticides, over the counter drugs, foods and consumer products.

  • Ability to travel 10% (domestic and internationally).
