The Electro Social Media Maker is the primary creator of Burt's Bees social content. You will partner with the Brand Engagement team to turn their strategies into posts for Burt's Bees followers and fans. You'll help concept social media campaigns, ideas for posts, shoot, design, record, and write content for one of the most beloved natural brands in the world. We are looking for a designer by trade with experience (personal and professional) on several social platforms. The Social Media Maker is part of the creative department and collaborates with a team of design, copy, and project management pros. Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Creation:

  • Make posts, pins, stories, and more for Burt's Bees. Content is created daily in and around the office. You bring the talent; we'll provide the inspiration, equipment, and stories. You will concept, design, write, shoot, and post. You'll play a lead role helping us develop and maintain the Burt's Bees visual/verbal voice, personality, and overall brand consistency in social.

  • Collaborate:

  • As a member of the Electro Creative Team, you will sit with a team that handles design, copy, and project management. You will collaborate with all of them as needed for your social projects. You'll also play a key role to help ensure the brand is cohesive across the entire brand experience. This includes sharing/leveraging assets, ensuring creative connectivity between vehicles.

  • Strategy & Analytics:

  • This job is a little left-brain too. You'll receive measurements regarding performance, likes, shares, etc. In partnership with our analytics and Brand Engagement teams, your "creative briefs" will be ongoing input about post performance, trends, and other social media data. This input will help you optimize the creative.

  • Organizational:

  • Manage workflow according to schedules and timelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Years and Types of Experience

  • 8 or more years experience in marketing with social media and in-house experience.

  • A proven track record developing creative ideas and designs for well-known brands.

  • A portfolio showcasing original, creative social media work.

  • Skills and Abilities

  • Photography skills (iPhone, DSLR, lighting, framing)

  • Video skills. You know how to capture video using an iPhone or DSLR and can use basic editing apps.

  • Design, social media, writing, and content-creation skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of social media channels and best practices of different platforms, especially Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.

  • Expertise in Adobe CS (Mac OS X environment).

  • Experience with content creation apps such as Adobe Spark Post and Spark Video.

  • Knowledge of all forms of content styles, file types, and how to create them (GIF, boomerangs, cinemagraphs, stills, video, light stop-motion, etc.).

  • An impeccable eye for brand standards, design aesthetics, and quality.

  • Thorough knowledge of social media channels and best practices of different platforms, especially Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.

  • Strategic mind that can synthesize analytics and data into creative ideas.

  • Endlessly curious about finding new stories.

  • Passionate about natural products and natural lifestyle brands.

  • A fearless collaborator. Comfortable working in a creative workshop environment and working with colleagues to develop stories.

  • Education Level/Degree

  • BFA or MFA in Design or equivalent training in graphic design, advertising, and content creation (e.g. blogging, social influencer, etc) Preferred Qualifications:

  • Personal care and/or cosmetics experience preferred (agency or in house).

  • Experience with natural lifestyle category (brands or personal projects)·

  • Experience with multi-channel campaigns (print + digital + content + experiential).

  • Some digital experience with UX, mobile, and UI design is a plus.

  • Graphic design skills in print and digital.

  • Copywriting for social media.

  • Motion graphics.
