Business Analysis -- Analyst IV

Business Analyst is the functional business lead that is responsible for the business functionality of the overall business area solution and as such works closely with the Business User/Requester, BRM, Project Manager, Solution Designer, and QA to ensure the successful delivery of the system from a functional perspective. Responsible for capturing end to end requirements that resolve the business problem and is responsible for analyzing and modeling existing business processes, in order to gain a complete understanding of current procedures, identify improvements, document those processes, and connect business people to information technology groups in an organization. The goal of business process analysis is to understand and document current business processes and problems and work closely with Solution Design to help solve and identify areas for improvement.

Position Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with diverse teams across the organization and responsible for developing business requirements, SLA/SLO needs, user stories, expected outcomes, performances needs, test plans and for working closely with the Solution Designers to review technical requirements to ensure the overall functionality can be delivered. Help coordinate developers to build and implement technology solutions.

  • Performs proactive and strategic problem solving while considering cross product, cross lines of business impact of design/decisions.

  • Responsible for the creation of a detailed BRD. Works strategically with clients / internal customers and vendors on key requirements, issues, escalations and issues.

  • Provides status updates on area responsibilities and identifies risks and issues with assigned projects including any required escalations to resolve issues and/or mitigate risks.

  • Provide guidance to 3rd Party Vendors (3PV) and Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS) organizations for clarification of functional needs.

  • Review and comment on development team's functional specification. Be able to analyze functional specifications.

  • Leads the change management function for projects including the communication to stakeholders.

  • Create detailed process flows for work effort including "As Is" and "To Be" to determine and complete gap analysis. Identify (upstream and downstream) data quality and process risks and issues and make recommendations for remediation.

  • Contributes to Lessons Learned throughout the project life cycle and participates in final Lessons learned review.

Position requirements

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 6 -- 10 yrs experience in IT industry or equivalent technical and/or operational management experience

  • 6 -- 10 yrs experience with project management or testing, or equivalent, experience.

  • 6 -- 10 yrs experience building and maintaining relationships with customers, clients, and colleagues.

  • Process development, documentation, and implementation.

  • 5 years experience in Finance related projects.

Skills and Abilities

Minimum Required

  • Practical application ability with Microsoft office and Visio.

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, complex capacity plans, and procurement systems and best practices including PMO concepts, practices and procedures

  • Strong knowledge of large-scale, organizational change management principles and methodologies, and their application.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Have a very strong understanding of process workflows and be highly effective in facilitating process improvement efforts.

  • Very strong at effectively prioritizing and executing tasks, even while under pressure.


  • Experience working with back end systems (ERP, Ecommerce order fulfillment, Transportation, Finance, HR, R&D)

  • Experience working with IT, Security, CI & International

  • Leverages functional/technical expertise to get results.

  • Experience leading in an outsourced environment both onshore and offshore

  • Experience working in IT and CPG industry.

  • Bi-lingual - English / Spanish

Education Level/Degree:

  • BA or BS degree
