Your role at Clorox:

Clorox’s Enterprise Data Strategy and Operations team is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to work in our Data Engineering squad and lead the Data & Analytics pipeline work that will equip, enable and empower our business with high-value enterprise data assets.

We are looking for an analytical big picture thinker who is driven to enhance and further our integrated data fabric by leveraging and delivering technology to business and cross-functional stakeholders across the enterprise. We are on a mission to put data and analytics into key moments of decision in the business by combining the power of data engineering, architecture, governance, and analytics. As a Solution Architect – Data, you would play a key role in leading/architecting delivery of multiple data and analytics projects, data engineering competency in cloud platforms, and implementation of data solutions driving insights for the business. You would serve as a leader to help drive the enterprise data engineering strategy to create value across the organization.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead critical data initiatives and support the transformation of business data into dependable and insightful analytics that help drive our business decisions. You will play a key role in designing and implementing our data architecture using advanced technologies in our cloud-based environment.

In this role, you will:

Data Solutions Development : Utilize Python, Spark, and other tools to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems. Develop high-quality code to process and move the vast amount of data and integrate systems across diverse platforms.

Data Processing and Analytics : Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems. Employ advanced analytical techniques to model complex business problems, discover business insights and identify opportunities through the use of algorithmic, data mining, and visualization techniques.

Cloud Services Management : Manage Clorox's data architecture in Azure, ensuring optimized data flow and storage to meet business needs. Implement best practices in data management and security

Leadership and Strategy : Guide and mentor a team of data engineers in designing and building scalable data models, cleaning and maintaining datasets, and implementing ETL processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data projects with enterprise-wide strategies.

Continuous Improvement : Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software. Develop and implement data improvements and optimizations to enhance the data products. Stay current with industry trends and innovations in data engineering.

Product Mindset : Apply a product mindset and product design thinking to build data as products. Partner with the business to define a value-generation roadmap and deliver MVPs of data products across data domains

Build product-sense for data products while measuring user-adoption, -growth, -retention, and data products quality

What we look for:

  • 8 years plus of experience in data engineering, with substantial experience in managing large-scale data projects.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development. Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms and back into technical implementations.

  • Strong proficiency in Python(required), Spark, Pandas, and CI/CD methodologies.

  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database. (highly preferred)

  • Ability to design and implement scalable and performant data pipelines and architecture. Deep understanding of data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques.

  • Experience leading data projects and teams. Ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $121,900 - $240,100

–Zone B: $111,700 - $220,100

–Zone C: $101,600 - $200,100

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
