Senior Manager, IT Vendor Management & Procurement
Responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operations, delivery and fiscal health of the IT Vendor Management and Procurement function. This includes the sourcing strategy and execution for IT products and services, managing Clorox IT vendors, and developing and improving processes and procedures around both. The role will manage a small team of IT professionals based in Durham and other US locations.

Vendor Management / Vendor Governance is responsible for managing Clorox's IT Vendors and supporting processes on a global basis. The key objectives of the Vendor Management function are to:
Enhance Clorox service delivery capability through the use of qualified and cost-effective vendors.
Leverage Clorox's global aggregate IT purchasing power to obtain the best value for products and service.
Drive consistent management of vendors across all IT functions
Reduce risk associated with contracting
Promotes vendor accountability
Proactively manage the performance of its vendors
Forge strong, long-lasting relationships between Clorox and its strategic vendors
Simplify/streamline the procurement of IT products and services while maintaining appropriate controls
Vendor management supports the design, implementation and management of the necessary processes to ensure that Clorox obtains optimal performance and value from its vendor partners performing work for Global IT and Clorox in general. This role is responsible for key areas such as:The primary goal for Vendor Management is to forge strong, long-lasting relationships between Clorox and its strategic vendors by supporting the IT leadership and its business customers, advising and preparing information on matters related to vendor selection, contracting, negotiations and contract lifecycle management.
Procurement is responsible for planning, organizing, executing, and managing all sourcing activities within Clorox IT. This role will also have input into the strategic development and execution of IT sourcing and contracting initiatives related to overall corporate goals tied to IT solutions.
Procurement is responsible for managing all aspects of the procurement process associated with IT purchases. This includes, but is not limited to, market research, supplier qualification, running RFI/P's, negotiations, issue resolution, risk mitigation identification, contract management, supplier engagement, supplier performance score-carding and correlating cost savings, internal/external analysis (i.e. spend, usage, best practices, etc.) and timely contract execution / order placement.

Years and Type of Experience:
12 + years in Business and/or Technology planning and management roles
10+ years with negotiating and managing contract life cycles, with an emphasis on technology or IT service agreements.
10+ years in managing large complex contracts in one or more IT categories, including hardware, software, service and communication.
10+ years in managing outsource vendors or large/ complex vendors in IT.
10+ years working with all key departments (security, compliance, finance, tax, AP, legal and procurement), and knowledge of procurement and vendor management practices and certifications (CIPS, ITIL and COBIT)
10+ years in Process development, documentation, and implementation.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to bridge communications between the IT and business organizations, with a focus on developing an understanding of how to structure contracts to deliver against business needs and goals.
Protect the enterprise's interests, comply with applicable regulations and mitigate risks, assembling the appropriate set of clauses and schedules, without hampering delivery methodologies and processes.
Leverage interpersonal relationship strengths to manage disputes and drive change in vendor behaviors, and create a working environment where vendors receive incentives to change behaviors and meet performance goals.
Analyze and evaluate change to drive continuous improvement in the process of contract management and incorporate contract management trends.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills for financial modeling and analysis of contract pricing.
Ability to determine contractual/financial exposure/ negotiate contracts. Participate in the development of the asset management mission, goals and objectives.
Knowledge of contracting trends, licensing models - traditional and emerging contract/vendor performance models.
Deep market knowledge of the category of IT vendor for which the contract manager is responsible.
Strong project and process management skills, with the ability to handle multiple vendors and multiple contracts, as well as a wide range of tasks.
Ability to understand contract risks and to work with other parts of the organization in crafting tactics and strategies for risk mitigation.
Knowledge of best practices for IT contract negotiation tactics and strategies.
Ability to structure bids, evaluate bids against a broad set of evaluation criteria and provide recommendations for vendor selection.
Where applicable, understanding of government and industry regulations that will influence contracting approach and vendor behavior (for example, SOX).
Strong ability to communicate with IT users, legal and procurement staff, and business leaders to craft contracts that align complex needs with contractual requirements to achieve business outcomes.
Customer-focused approach to delivering contract management services to internal customers.
Strong relationship and interpersonal skills to be applied in working with vendors across the entire contract life cycle.
Ability to distinguish what is required versus what is "nice to have," and ability to manage conflicting stakeholder needs and wants.
Adopt an analytical approach to problem solving, with a focus on managing tasks with appropriate urgency in a results-oriented team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
