The Data Center Network Engineer will join the Global Network and End User Computing team. The individual will be responsible for delivery of network services throughout the company’s global Data Centers. The role will be collaborating tightly with Data Center Infrastructure Engineers and other Network Engineers to ensure originating architecture choices are fully understood in scope and capability. The individual will drive designs through various technical resources including managed service providers (COLO Providers, Hardware Vendors), consulting implementation partners, and OEM engineers. Integrated solution designs will need to be tightly planned and coordinated with other security, datacenter, end user computing domain engineers for a complete end-end solution
- Development of solution designs, implementation strategies, and project execution of network related technology and services - 75%
This includes the management of the performance, availability, capacity, compliance, and responsiveness of the services delivered by all service providers and vendors.
Support strategic business initiatives including support of service transition processes. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive higher efficiency and performance of network services-15%.
Financial budget planning for projects – 10%
Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required
Proficiency in Data Center Network Switching (Ethernet and FC), Core Routing
Large scale Cisco Nexus and ACI deployments and Automation.
Application Content Switching and load balancing using f5 Big-IP LTM products
Solid grasp of BGP, OSPF, VPC, VDC, FC, and related networking concepts, with the ability to setup, monitor, and troubleshoot.
Expert skill in diagnosing, solving complex problems and providing detailed technical analysis
Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment, preferably across multiple data centers
Creating TCO plans based Software Define and Legacy Solutions
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Complete understanding of Network Virtualization
Creation of Total cost of owner ship
Create Work Break down for delivery
Technical documentation including HLD/LLD
Knowledge of theory and principles of project management
- CCNP (DC), CCDP (DC) or equivalent experience, CCIE (DC) is a strong preference
