Job Overview/Summary

Clorox is seeking a Manufacturing Leader. The individual will need a track record of success, in a fast paced manufacturing environment.. Additional skills including developing people, leading safety, improving quality, delivering cost metrics, customer service and driving continuous improvement.

The Fairfield plant operates 24/5 with a team of 80+ hourly associates and 8 salaried employees. This individual will report into the operations manager and works closely with the WCO, Maintenance, and Engineering team to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety and Core Manufacturing Objectives

  • Seen as a safety leader who demonstrates through their behaviors that "Safety is a Core Value".

  • Responsible for implementing key plant initiatives as developed in our multi-year plan (Journey Map).

  • Accountable for the performance of their team, and to meeting the plant's operating goals.

  • Leads the safety deliverables in packaging, strong advocate of measures, metrics, and participation.

  • Responsible for cost savings initiatives in the packaging department while helping to reduce plant spending.

  • Responsible for meeting the departments budgeted numbers.

  • People and Leadership:

  • Demonstrates leadership behavior with a high degree of EQ; acting as a liaison with upstream and downstream customers.

  • Owns the long-term strategy of their area of the department, and is able to effectively communicate this vision to the team.

  • Leads teams through clear direction, mentoring and coaching.

  • Mentors and develops direct reports in leadership and behaviors that build trust. Builds a culture of empowered, highly capable, and enthusiastic business owners.

  • Key advocate for WCO (Lean Manufacturing) and standard processes becoming the way we do our work.

  • Lead sustainability process efforts (Centerlines, CILs, Abnormality tracking, other) to maintain and improve daily operations at world class standards. Utilize pillar leadership/teams to develop, implement, and execute tactical strategies to meet operating goals.

  • 5 years of leadership experience

  • Position will require the candidate to be in manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces, temperature variations etc.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operational technical experience in manufacturing (molding, packaging, maintenance etc.)

  • Team facilitation and consensus building working thru engagement of various levels of the organization

  • Excellent oral/written communication and people skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Desire to move upward and relocate within Clorox

  • Exposure to World Class Manufacturing, Lean, or 6 Sigma is a plus.

  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate

Required Education

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution is highly desired
