Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (FP&A)

This position will actively participate in the decision making process of the company, ensuring long term profitability through best in class financial analysis, product, category and customer forecasting. This position is responsible for leading the management accounting, reporting and financial planning for the Burt's Bees Asia business. The position will also ensure full compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and procedures. The position works closely with the Regional Finance and local cross functional teams to provide clear financial guidance, independent thought and strategic input. There is also some interaction with Corporate and International Finance.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy and Execution

  • Plan and execute the monthly, quarterly and annual accounts processes. Present resulting financial statements to Finance Manager for review.

  • Compilation of all financial plans and forecasts together with financial packages and presentations for review by the Finance Manager.

  • Work with cross functional partners to provide clarity on gaps vs. commitments and collaborate on finding solutions for growth

  • Provide higher level support and expertise, thus freeing up the Finance Manager to devote more time to key business priorities

Business Results and Targets

  • Provide monthly performance tracking on business fundamentals and ability to understand and distill the drivers of financial performance across varied Asia markets

  • Always adopt a customer service approach that translates financial reporting into user- friendly, event driven analysis.

  • Actively engage with budget owners to provide monthly budget tracking and assistance with controlling costs.

  • Provide pre and post event analysis

  • Assist team members with ad hoc requests

  • Help maintain a robust internal control environment and ensure adherence to accounting policies

Efficiency, Innovation and NPD

  • Perform high quality financial analysis to support new product, supply chain and pricing initiatives

  • Improve and influence the close, forecast, and S&OP processes

Communication and Networking

  • Actively collaborate with Finance Manager and Leadership teams to understand business choices and provide a point of view

  • Be a pro-active service provider to the Regional Finance team and cross functional team within the Burt's Bees Asia organization

  • Build a good working relationship with the Local, Regional, International and Corporate Finance teams.

  • Partner with the AMEA Finance team to share knowledge and drive best practices across the AMEA region

Position requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Years and Type of Experience:

  • At least 5 years of broad experience in Finance and Accounting, Forecasting, Planning & Analysis

  • Multinational Skin Care or FMCG industry experience

  • Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent collaboration and ability to develop strong internal relationships and interact at all levels

  • Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Well organized with ability to work under pressure and to prioritize workload to meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail, excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated, flexible and responsive to business needs and changes in priorities and deadlines

  • An ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently while meeting strict reporting deadlines and deliver high quality of work is a must

  • Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel data manipulation and analysis skills

  • Strong computer literacy is essential, particularly across all Microsoft Office packages

  • The ability to explain complex concepts and problems in simple terms, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels

  • Ability to demonstrate conceptual, innovative thinking in forecasting and planning methods and techniques

  • Excellent knowledge of management reporting, financial analysis and strong analytical skills

  • Strong, core accounting skills

  • Experience in SAP, Essbase, and Netsuite preferred

  • Experience in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system a plus

Education Level/Degree:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

  • CPA certification or equivalent preferred

  • Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years of broad experience in Finance and Accounting, Forecasting, Planning & Analysis

  • Multinational Skin Care or FMCG industry experience
