The Clorox Company Senior Packaging Staff Engineer in Kennesaw, Georgia
Working in a participative team based environment, using World Class Operations (WCO) processes and principles, the Senior Packaging Staff Engineer provides cross-functional teams the packaging technical knowledge and leadership required for the development of manufacturing equipment essential to line extensions and product improvements. Assignments include the application of expert knowledge to improve manufacturing competitive performance. Plans and leads medium to large sized and complex projects/programs that include the integration of outside resources. Provides solutions to a wide range of difficult to complex problems using in -depth manufacturing specific knowledge, combined with the application of engineering principles. Independently determines approach and specific solutions to technical problems. Demonstrates good judgment in risk taking. Widely used as a technical expert within Clorox. Significantly contributes to major technology efforts within the organization. Project work will require travel and is expected to be 20 -50% of time as dictated by work assignments.

People and Leadership
Support and lead project teams as well as other business initiatives
Mentor, train, and develop direct and indirect reports
Execute projects using the Clorox capital project process.
Technical Leadership and Business Ownership
Provide functional specific technical leadership on evolving capabilities within the industry
Provides leadership, input and insight to the team on business and engineering needs and proposals
Manage projects in accordance with Clorox Project Management Standards to achieve required results, timing, and budgetary targets
Years and Type of Experience:
8 years of engineering experience with manufacturing packaging systems and capital projects.
2 years of experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD SAP or equivalent,
Position will require the candidate to be in manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces, temperature variations etc.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Skills and Abilities:
Good business judgment with ability to calibrate with business objectives, Demonstrated ability to achieve quality results and meet deadlines, Solid analytical skills
Utilization of Engineering Standards, problem solving, data collection, and analysis skills 2 years of experience in Operations, 2 years in Staff Engineering, 2 years in Plant Engineering
High level of initiative and ability to drive results, Change management experience and discipline
Able to influence and accomplish work through others.
Exceptional written & verbal communication skills.
Ability to coach and develop self and others in the course of completing work assignments.
WCO / TPM/Lean Manufacturing processes and techniques proven skills effectively to document and communicate technical information
Background in consumer packaged goods environment
Excellent presentation skills to technical and non-technical audience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in mechanical or chemical engineering (BSME or BSChE)
Master's Degree from an accredited institution in mechanical or chemical engineering
