Internship Description:

For the summer of 2019, the Legal Services department of The Clorox Company is seeking three summer interns to serve as 1L LCLD Scholars as part of the 1L LCLD Scholars Program at its global headquarters in Oakland, California. The 1L LCLD Scholars Program provides first-year law students who are committed to diversity and inclusion the developmental opportunity to work side by side for eight weeks with in-house attorneys and legal specialists and to learn more about in-house and other potential career paths within the legal profession. At Clorox, the LCLD Scholars will get practical, hands-on experience in a broad range of legal practice areas and have the opportunity to interact with business partners in a variety of functions. The LCLD Scholars will have the opportunity to work in different areas such as intellectual property, corporate governance, securities, employment, M&A/transactions, regulatory, litigation, international, compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity, and advertising law, among others. We are seeking applicants who share Clorox's values of fostering diversity and inclusion in the legal profession--applicants of all backgrounds are considered and encouraged to apply--and are interested in gaining corporate legal experience in an in-house corporate environment.

Clorox's LCLD Scholars will receive salaries for the eight-week internship period. In addition to the eight-week internship at Clorox headquarters in Oakland, LCLD Scholars will attend LCLD's Scholars Summit for all LCLD Scholars nationwide in Atlanta on June 4-6, 2019. They will also be invited to participate in LCLD's law student mentoring program and a variety of other valuable networking opportunities. In addition, our Scholars will have the opportunity to attend attorney panels on topics such as preparing for 2L on-campus interviews and tips for succeeding in early legal practice.

  • Currently enrolled as a first-year law student in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school
