The Clorox Company Brand Engagement Manager, Commerce in Oakland, California

The Brand Engagement Manager, Commerce will provide strategic oversight for omnichannel national shopper marketing activity. This role is the Subject Matter Expert role (SME) for National Shopper Marketing with extensive knowledge to support Clorox Brand Marketing efforts. They are responsible for the direction, development and management of shopper strategy and investment choices for the Fresh Step Studio Team, inclusive of driving consumer engagement through the path to purchase.

  • Drive Strategy, Planning & Execution:

  • Lead Shopper Marketing activity at a national level across strategies and tactics. Activate discipline specific tactics per the plan. Proactively report tactical results and recommend actions for improvement.

  • Leverage performance data/analytics to inform learnings and optimize strategies.

  • Project manage brand partnership activations and scale platforms across brands.

  • Lead the commerce strategy and tactical plans development to drive business objectives

  • Act as eCom marketing "Integrator" for the Studiosby partnering closely with eCom Project Managers and Studio Leads to drive the ecom agenda.

  • Liaise with eCom partners to maximize knowledge and applied learnings for Studio's omnichannel activity.

  • Drive creativity and innovation into Shopper activation and Brand Engagement Plans

  • Foster new strategic opportunities with key vendors.

  • Use an external shopper lens to advance and build tactics inclusive of mobile and digital promotions, digital shopper marketing, sweepstakes/contests, events, coupons/FSIs, sampling opportunities.

  • Leverage CRM data to drive program acquisition, engagement and retention tactics that meet business goals for both owned database as well as retailer specific loyalty programs;

  • Shopper Content & Asset Creation

  • Build and deploy shopper marketing assets (e.g.: toolkits, eCom content) for field shopper teams to leverage with retailer customers, ensuring integration with brand plans

  • Partner with Brand Engagement Content team to customize and distribute content and communications for Retailer websites and digital platforms.

  • Agency Management

  • Manage Shopper discipline Agency team and drive collaboration across disciplines.

  • Foster collaboration across other agency teams (Media, Creative, Website, Shopper Marketing, PR, etc)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Years and Type of Experience

  • 6 or more years of experience in consumer marketing (shopper marketing, eCommerce marketing, marketing communications, brand management, or digital marketing)

  • Agency experience

  • Skills And Abilities

  • Able to creatively problem solve and ideate to develop innovative marketing ideas and then champion up and across the organization.

  • Exhibit curiosity for testing, learning and iterating a fast-changing time of technology and innovation

  • Knowledge of integrated marketing planning and processes

  • Up to date on latest media trends, innovation and consumer behavior

  • Experience managing and overseeing creative development

  • Experience planning and executing promotional, digital, and shopper marketing programs

  • Proven experience in data driven analysis, application and associated technologies

  • Experience working with an analytics team to measure campaign ROI and generate insights that inform future recommendations and decisions.

  • Strong influencing, communication and presentation skills; has the ability to tell a story from data

  • Demonstrated project leadership and teamwork skills in cross-functional planning and execution

  • Have the proven ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced office environment.

  • Strong relationship building abilities, particularly across geographies

  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word

  • Education Level/Degree

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in Communications, Advertising, Shopper Marketing or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house and/or CPG experience highly preferred

  • Experience with content marketing and/or paid digital and social media a plus.

  • Thirst to broaden marketing skills beyond shopper media and functional as a generalist in brand engagement a plus.
