Job Overview/Summary

A Senior Financial Analyst within a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) at Clorox works closely with cross-functional partners and Finance leadership to develop the financial forecast and understand results.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing close activities select accounts across a Business Unit, which include ensuring the accounting performed is in accordance with corporate guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Performing forecasting activities select accounts across a Business Unit, including the annual budget, subsequent plans updates, and gap management activities. Analyzing variances to the budget, prior updates, and year ago and identifying opportunities for creating value.

  • Driving category profitability by positively influencing key stakeholders to make sound financial decisions, and providing insights to leadership teams on the drivers of the SBUs business's financial performance. Proactively identifying issues/obstacles affecting profitable growth and creating/recommending sound mitigation plans that contain an objective and balanced point of view.

  • Independently lead ad hoc requests and be a resource for strategic initiative across the Division.

  • Ability to design and deliver effective presentations, tailoring communication to specific audience and anticipate their issues and questions. Effectively communicate complex ideas clearly to stake holders, acting as the voice of Finance during meetings with cross functional partners.

Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of finance, accounting or related experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrates high level of initiative and curiosity

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate and influence across functions and at all levels

  • Strong Excel skills and proficient in systems including BW, Essbase and SAP.

  • Strong background knowledge in accounting and finance; other cost / forecast experience is a plus

Education Level/Degree:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting
