The Senior Copywriter will serve as a creative writer and conceptual thinker on the Creative Content who can translate brand purpose, voice guidelines, and creative briefs into compelling, motivating, memorable copy that helps build brand love. They will contribute to projects in social media, advertising, video, websites, UX, articles, podcasts, VO, voice experiences (e.g. Amazon Alexa), AR/VR, packaging, and other content projects. They will also support the ACD, Copywriter with conceptual work on new creative briefs including brainstorming, researching topics, and developing work for presentations and pitches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative concepting, writing, and execution. Develops creative ideas for a range of content across all brands.

  • Responsible for writing the verbal/voice expression of every brand: scripts, copydecks, headlines, body copy, dialog, and other formats. Aligns creative ideas to strategic briefs. Pitches creative concepts and writing projects to team.

  • Contribute to the custom creation/production of content in-house as needed, not limited to purely writing.

  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for ongoing organizational improvements (i.e. talent, process, and tools). Collaborate with project managers and account managers to ensure smooth, efficient workflow and positive culture in the team.

  • Maintain a connection to external creative industry and culture at large. Stay up to date on current trends in content creativity and culture. Keeps a constant eye on emerging talent and creative trends to bring into the agency (vendors, artists, production companies, individual designers/writers, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Years & Types of Experience

  • 10 years of experience in advertising with emphasis on film/video for a variety of products.

  • Advertising and/or digital agency experience with film, TV, video, and radio experience.

  • CPG experience producing best-in-class creative.

  • Understanding of content production process including film production in formats from :01 to 5:00.

  • Collaborating and partnering with multi-disciplinary teams (art directors, designers)

  • Deep experience and proven flexibility working within brand standards and copy voice systems

  • Skills & Abilities

  • Impeccable writing and editing skills.

  • Knows how to research and find stories for marketing creative ideas.

  • A strong bias toward action. Can take an idea and bring it to life (not just "write the script").

  • Strong relationship manager and true team player

  • Able to collaborate and build on ideas with other creatives

  • A human-centered approach to creative ideas

  • An expert eye for storytelling and film editing

  • Expert at proofreading and editing

  • MS Word. Keynote. PowerPoint. Adobe CS. Premiere, and other film creation/editing software and Apps (e.g. Adobe Spark) a plus.

  • Education Level/Degree

  • BA or MA/MFA in Creative Writing or equivalent education and job experience.

  • Completion of an accredited portfolio program in advertising

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience directing on-screen and recorded and voice talent preferred

  • International experience a plus

  • Creative experience in a medium to large organization a plus

  • Non-commercial artistic work is a plus. (We'd love to see examples of your other passions.)

  • Tapped in to creative trends, culture, design and the creative community

  • A passion for creativity and story

  • Expert at proofreading and editing
