The Clorox Company Cost Analyst -- Product Supply Finance/PCOE in Pleasanton, California
The Cost Analyst is responsible for supporting domestic business requirements through the management of the product costing process and analysis of actuals, including but not limited to, supporting the forecast and close processes as detailed below
This role will serve as the lead for total domestic inventory reporting, reconciliations, and support Total Delivered Cost Reporting (Forecasts, mid quarter and qtr end Close), in addition to providing leadership to the Product Costing team. Dotted line reporting relationship to GSS Finance Manager and all Category Cost Managers

Close/Forecast: Assist with the forecast and reporting of actuals for various components of total delivered cost and Balance Sheet as follows:
Inventory: Work with Business Units to provide month-end inventory reporting and explanation of business drivers to PS Finance Teams and PS Ops LT; monthly reconciliation of General Ledger to Perpetual inventory; support Internal Control Compliance/EY Audits for Inventory
Management Reporting -Total Delivered Cost: Key support for total company roll-up view of actuals and forecast reporting.
Missing Standards Review: contribute to the thorough forecasting of COS @Std accounts by ensuring all forecasted shipment materials have associated standard costs in line with our manufacturing processes (i.e., R&P, packer fee, operating, etc)
Support BU's by providing accurate and insightful product costing analysis
Standard Costs: Support/manage the creation and maintenance of product costs for all raw, packaging, contract manufacturing, work in process, and finished goods materials as follows:
Bill of Materials: analyze for reasonableness; ensure BOMs are accurate at all holding locations
Annual Standards: Lead and execute annual standards development process; maintain documentation updates
Internal Control Compliance: provide monthly analysis and clear explanations for re-rolled materials
Standard Cost Metrics: Own the reporting of monthly cost metrics for all new and rerolled material costs; manage new cost error reporting and ensure follow ups with PSO/GSS are actionable and timely
Ensure communication with Finance & PSO is timely, accurate, & clear
Provide adhoc analyses for Category Business Units as needed
Actively lead and identify issues/opportunities to improve business processes, system utilization, automation and reporting; initiate improvement projects and activities
Years and Type of Experience:
- 1-2 year's work experience preferably in cost accounting
Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical and leadership skills. Self-starter who takes ownership of projects and tasks and ensures timely resolution.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written and oral
Ability to work effectively in teams (both within Finance and cross-functionally).
Strong planning & organizing skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and self-manage workload to meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word
Ability to identify and implement ways to streamline and improve effectiveness and efficiency of costing processes.
- Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related degree
Consumer Packaged Goods or manufacturing industry experience
