The Commercialization Project Manager leads cross-functional teams (i.e., marketing, sales, engineering, R&D product development, marketing research, and others as needed). The individual in this role will deliver projects of varying complexity for new products and/or significant cost savings. He or she will act as primary liaison between general management leadership teams and project teams. The position leads projects from initiation (charter) through product on shelf. The Commercialization Project Manager organizes the cross-functional activities to ensure completion of the project/product on schedule, on budget and within charter constraints. He or she ensures the development of risks & contingency plans, implements contingencies as needed, challenges team assumptions for clarity and congruency, and pushes leadership teams to make key decisions timely. The Commercialization PM is considered a key business partner and leader by Category stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

Drive Business Results by Leading Key Projects

  • Deliver Project Objectives -- timing, capital, financials, project requirements

  • Develop cross functional work plans and ensure integration of resources against project requirements

  • Manage Teams, Team Meetings, and drive functional accountability

  • Provide effective project leadership, influence and communication to internal and external groups (stakeholders, LT's, sponsors, third party vendors, functional teams, etc.)

  • Key voice of project team with Leadership Team (LT), aggressively pushes to get needed decisions made through management of cross functional timelines/risks to provide options to the LT's

  • Coach teams through innovation process stages

  • Ensure functional project risks are assessed, communicated to LT, and escalated outside the LT if appropriate -- ensure facilitation of these discussions/decisions on needed actions and contingency plans

  • Ensure alignment of resources with functional managers for indirect reports' performance management

  • Secure and maintain team resource requirements

  • Provide effective leadership and influence to internal and external groups (stakeholders, LT's, sponsors, third party vendors, functional teams, etc.)

  • Active in soliciting feedback from team members and LT's to understand expectations and improve performance Drive Project Management functional capability and compliance

  • Drive process improvement and use of standard tools and practices

  • Ensure project functional information and data integrity are managed and kept up to date in our systems of record

  • Mentor PM's and Project Leads on Project Management techniques Develop and maintain a high performing organization of enthusiastic owners-- for individual contributors

  • Clear understanding of your role and how it links to the success of the organization

  • Drive individual development plan and demonstrate targeted skills on the job

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

  • 8 years' experience leading project teams or cross-functional teams

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong business and project leadership skills, assertive and diplomatic, self-directing, able to manage up and down the organization without authority, willing to hold others accountable

  • 10-12 years' experience leading project teams or cross-functional teams

  • Excellent communication and listening skills

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering/technical field from an accredited institution.

  • Broad Functional knowledge (Legal, Regulatory, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance and Accounting, and Marketing)

  • Broad industry experience with a preference for Consumer Packaged Good

  • Knowledgeable in stage gate process and Project management practices (a certified, professional project manager is desired)

  • MBA from an accredited institution
