Job Overview/Summary

The Senior Demand Planner Europe is responsible for creating & maintaining the demand forecast for Burt's Bees (Natural Personal Care); using data-driven insights to ensure accuracy within each channel, customer & sub-category and for driving continuous improvement of the S&OP process & Planning KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain rolling 18-month forecasts on a monthly basis utilizing forecasting system & tools

  • Build the forecast using historic base sales/trends & post-activity evaluations and work with sales & marketing to agree assumptions / activity uplifts

  • Ensure total & sub-category level forecasts tie to total company revenue expectations - highlight gaps/risks/opportunities

  • Work with Sales Team to compare distributor & customer forecasts, inventory levels, shipment trends & POS. Highlight issues/opportunities and amend forecasts

  • Proactively communicate critical changes to downstream supply chain partners

  • Manage the demand planning for new products, transitions and discontinuations through liaison with Project leaders, EU Sales, Marketing & Finance teams.

  • Build long-range budgets & forecasts annually, review & submit quarterly

  • Lead monthly Demand Alignment and Consensus meetings ensuring full process adherence by other key stakeholders

  • Identify and execute continuous improvement plans for the S&OP process

  • Forecast Accuracy & Bias KPIs – Establish targets, monitor, report and publish results, driving improvements through close communication with CLT, trend analysis and gap identification.

  • Work actively with other teams to identify cost savings opportunities

Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years in Supply Chain

  • 2+ years in Demand Planning (or similar)

  • Consumer Packaged Goods industry (or similar)

  • Business degree or other relevant qualification / relevant work experience

  • REQUIRED ABILITIES

  • Independent working style, self-starter, able to thrive in ambiguous situations

  • Continuous Improvement mind-set; able to develop/simplify processes

  • Ability to problem solve; take ownership, identify root-causes and implement timely resolutions

  • Ability to balance time spent between detailed precise analysis and a big-picture approach

  • Highly developed analytical skills; able to handle large data sets from multiple sources with attention to detail. Ability to draw conclusions, make recommendations, influence others & execute ideas

  • Demonstrated experience in adapting to change and balancing priorities whilst maintaining results

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to liaise, influence and interface with a variety of individuals both within and outside the company

  • Exceptionally organized with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Experience of planning software & working with technical to develop/implement

  • Advanced MS Excel and analytics including basic statistics

  • Report writing and presenting

  • Master data management

  • Broad understanding of Supply Chain & Business Finance

Required Education

High School Degree or Equivalent
