Sr. Lease Accountant

Position summary

This role will support the lease accounting for all International leases. This includes the input and maintenance of the lease accounting tool (KLT), the back-end SAP accounting processes for leases in Latin America and the identification of new leases. This role will focus on the International lease portfolio; however the overall Leasing Accounting Team will have global responsibility.

Position Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Input of Leases in the Leasing Accounting Tool

  • Load all new International leases into tool

  • Generate the journal entries for all international countries

  • Prepare Balance Sheet analysis for all international countries

  • Support lease accounting tool system maintenance (discount rates, FX rates, access provisioning)

  • Support lease accounting tool system upgrades and UAT testing

  • SAP Accounting Processes

  • Support LATAM Month/Quarter end close activities

  • Ensure journal entries booked properly and load those that require manual support such as Argentina (LATAM)

  • Prepare account reconciliations 5+ lease balance sheet accounts (LATAM)

  • Support resolution of balances in lease payment clearing account (LATAM)

  • Prepare long-term roll-forward schedules (cash flow support - LATAM)

  • Lease Identification and Review:

  • Support lease identification and classification for all international contracts with potential leases

  • Help identify and evaluate lease modifications, lease impairments and other changes for leases

  • Internal Controls:

  • Complete self-assessment process for international leases

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and financial statements

  • Must have strong verbal and written English skills

  • Strong leadership and project management skills

  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to prioritize

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively in teams and with cross functional partners

Education Level/Degree:

  • Minimum: Bachelor Degree

  • Desired: Bachelor Degree and relevant Accounting Certification such as CPA or CA
