The Clorox Company Pilot Plant Electrician in Willowbrook, Illinois

We are looking for an electrician to work in the Glad R&D Pilot Plant as we need to maintain and grow our current capabilities as our business evolves throughout the years. This position includes electrical maintenance and trouble-shooting of pilot plant equipment and systems (30k sq ft pilot plant with blown film extrusion, sheet film extrusion, thermoforming and high speed bag converting equipment among many other smaller pieces)

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair existing electrical systems and install new equipment and components when needed

  • Interface with electrical service contractors for building upgrade and equipment installation projects

  • Independently follow best practices and safety regulations

  • Creatively come up with solutions to technical issues regarding electrical systems

  • Work with a team of 40+ people on a daily basis

Years and Type of Experience:

  • Electrician with 10 years+ experience related to large pieces of industrial and/or manufacturing equipment.

  • Experience with electrical distribution systems, power and control wiring in a light industrial setting. Familiarity with 480V, 110/220V, 208V, 277V and low voltage wiring.


  • Knowledge regarding converting on high speed web handling equipment and/or blown film extrusion is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience with the National Electrical Code. Understanding of blueprints/schematics and working with AC/DC motors and controls.

  • Familiarity with the following test equipment: Multimeter, ammeter, megger, tack

  • Familiarity with heaters, thermocouples, and controllers is beneficial.

  • Interpersonal skills to work with a variety of people and changing tasks/responsibilities

  • Hands on and creative.


  • Knowledge of PLC logic and programming is highly preferred

Education Level/Degree:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma

  • Training as an Electrician (Journeyman, Licensed, etc.)
